Casa Bonita is nominated by the magazine Hôtel & Lodge for Best World Lodge




The Hotel Casa Bonita Tropical Lodge has been selected by the French magazine Hôtel & Lodge as one of the best four year institutions around the world in the "Lodge" for the quality of its services.

The delivery of the fifth edition of the awards will take place on December 20 in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the magazine, dedicated to showcasing the most exclusive being the benchmark for the French market demanding Hotels and Spas gathering more senior in the world.

La Romana-Bayahibe receive Blue Flag certification International for 2012-2013




La Laguna Dominicus Beach received the Blue Flag international certification for the period 2012 - 2013, awarded by the International Jury of the Blue Flag program then successfully completing the evaluation process.

The Blue Flag beach ratified extends from the Oasis Canoa hotel facilities, crossing in front of the Catalonia Gran Dominicus, Iberostar Hacienda Dominicus, even ownership of Viva Wyndham Dominicus Palace resorts and Beach.

The Association of La Romana-Bayahibe Hotels (AHRB), has been recognized for the work to achieve and maintain the Blue Flag certification Dominicus Beach, obtained in 2004 was the first in the Dominican Republic and the region in America.

Ana Garcia, Executive Director of the AHRB, stated that the achievement of maintaining this condition is the result of the cooperation of various public and private entities, which together with the Association of Hotel La Romana-Bayahibe, are working hard to keep one of the resources most important and emblematic destination.


This environmental category is awarded to beach hotels that meet the requirements of the International Blue Flag Coordination, such as quality of bathing water, environmental education and information, environmental management, safety and services. IDARD oversees and collaborates nationally to ensure the strength and maintenance of the criteria by the beaches.

It also requires regular monitoring of coastal reefs conducted by Reef Check and establish a lifeline systems to 100 meters away to the benefit of all users and sponsored by the private sector.

In addition to maintaining a very strict water quality, exceeding national regulations for four, also requires the implementation of an environmental program.

Nebrija University Professor highlights importance of multi-destination

Prof. Bruno Pujol


Professor Bruno Pujol, assistant dean of the University of Nebrija, Spain, highlighted the importance of multi-destinations and said that in the case of the Americas meet a market demand for medium and long distances and can contribute to reposition established destinations, in combination with other startup process.

Pujol addressed the topic "Multi-Destination" in a dynamic way, as part of the second Dominican Annual Tourism Forum (FODATUR 2012), organized by the Dominican Tourism Competitiveness Consortium (CDCT), sponsored by the U.S. Agency for Agency for International Development (USAID), through the Sustainable Tourism Empowerment Programme.

Among the advantages of multi-destinations Pujol cited to include the combination and synergies between complementary products and destinations that dinanamiza supply and product portfolio and the work of tour operators.


Pujol  explained that  the multi-destination offers the advantages of more alternatives to tourists  available to the move to a lower cost, the ability to integrate several countries on vacation and have a wider choice, attractive and varied.

The professor of the University of Nebrija stressed that the multi-destinations favors the public sector is the private, the official tourist agencies, customs, tour operators, tour guides, air travel and especially to the hotels

Puntacana Village celebrates the spirit of Christmas
