La Romana-Bayahibe receive Blue Flag certification International for 2012-2013

Ministry of Tourism will rescue Puerto Plata and will develop Barahona

2.9 million tourists have visited the Dominican Republic in 2012



During the first seven months of this year the arrival of nonresident passengers amounted to 2.9 million visitors, representing a growth of  7.20%, compared to the same period last year, when 2.7 million tourists arrived to the Dominican Republic.


This growth was due to the influx of foreigners and 24.208 171.083 Dominican nonresidents during that period, according to the Central Bank report on the tourist flow January to July 2012.

It also notes that resulted from the successful tourism promotion deployed by public and private sectors, which influenced the increase of 7.24% in the segment of nonresident aliens and evidence that the recovery of the tourism industry has consolidated.

Rung residents grew 4.53%, due to the increase of 11.827 passengers made ​​trips abroad during the first seven months of the year, from 260.851 to 272.678 tourists residents.

North Mirador Park opens to virgin forest area

Blue Diamond bought Grand Bavaro Beach Hotel



Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts, a division of the leading tourism company in North America, Sunwing Travel Group, purchased the Grand Paradise Bavaro Beach Resort, Casino and Spa located on the eastern seaboard.

 Blue Diamond team said that although the negotiations remain the resort operated as Grand Paradise Bavaro Beach Resort until April 30, 2013, will close for six months to complete renovation, to suit standards "Memories Resorts" Blue Diamond chain.


The resort reopened in November 2013 as "Memories Punta Cana Beach Resort and Spa" 5-star. It is the second purchase of the property of Blue Diamond resort who purchased the Breezes in Trelawny, Jamaica, owned by Super Clubs.



The resort is located opposite the world famous Bavaro beach only 30 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport and has 1.029 rooms and suites. 

All guests are served by all-inclusive, with the extraordinary choice of six a la carte restaurants, two buffet restaurants and 10 bars located throughout the resort.

Salto de Jimenoa at Jarabacoa






El Salto de Jimenoa (Jimenoa waterfall) is the main attraction of the town of Jarabacoa in the Dominican Republic, so the weekend is visited by hundreds of people who love ecotourism, including people who love domestic tourism and international tourists. 


El Salto de Jimenoa is located five kilometers before reaching the entrance of Jarabacoa, there is no regular access to it, so travelers should use a motor vehicle (motorcycle taxi concho, etc.). 

 Jimenoa One is a cascade of 60 meters high with a nice natural pool, and Jimenoa two, has a fall of 40 meters, the drop is possible an eco-trail built and run by the community, who proposes a sustainable tourism project in the area.


This marvel of ecotourism Dominican has a jump of 40 meters high, where the water seems to be falling foam.


To access to Jimenoa visitors have to pay a small sum of money which is used for maintenance of suspension bridges that provide access to such a beautiful place, there are places where people can not swim because of the danger it can present for swimmers . 

Although it is difficult to get to this natural beauty  but it is a place worth visiting for its beautiful waters.

Albatros Club Resort at Juan Dolio

Hilton Worldwide will open hotel in Silversun Plaza




  Hilton Worldwide announced the operation of an Embassy Suites by Hilton 200 suites on Silversun shopping center, a shopping center in final stages of construction in the center of the capital. 


  The Embassy Suites Santo Domingo will be the third hotel of the firm in the Dominican Republic, as there is            an Embassy Suites by Hilton in Metro Country Club in Juan Dolio, with 125 rooms, and the Hilton Santo Domingo with 228 rooms. 


The new hotel will open in the second quarter of 2013, on  Tiradentes Avenue, Naco sector in the central part of Santo Domingo.


The 200 suites will have a living room, a bedroom, bathroom, area equipped with microwave, mini-fridge, coffeemaker, two flat screen TVs and high definition. 


It will offer a fitness center and business center.  You will also be more than 16,000 square feet of enclosed space for meetings, including two ballrooms, lounge and 4.300 square feet of space for outdoor events. 


Silversun shopping center is a three-level mall of shops, five cinemas, food court, playground of entertainment and five levels of underground parking. "We are pleased to announce the development of our third Hilton hotel in the Dominican Republic, and proud to do it with RDC Development, SA," said Danny Hughes, senior vice president, Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America, Hilton Worldwide. The executive said the hotel was established in the business district of the Dominican capital for the growth trend in the area.

Disco Gold, the 'Jewel of the Caribbean' in Punta Cana




Inspired by the metal which takes its name, this nightclub came to life through architectural and interior design by François Frossard, who endowed it with the intimacy of a lounge and own infused contemporary of the great international clubs.

Although Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana are not experts in alchemyor anything else like it-the architecture and interior design of its newest nightclub, locally and internationally known as the 'new jewel of the Caribbean', was a alluding to the precious metal alloy which gives its name to the club: gold.


The genesis of this building dates back to when the Moon Palace Resorts decided to work with the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, opening a nightclub in the latter premium similar to Las Vegas, New York or Miami. 

For a project of this size immediately thought that the company MMG Nightlife, recognized for its success in American clubs LIV, Arkadia and LIV at Sun Life Stadium, was the best ally for its operational management and customer service.

The 14,000 square foot Nightclub Gold are distributed on two levels and feature a mezzanine, a DJ Booth, a total of 37 VIP tables and three bars. 

In just one year, this infrastructure was equipped with the-world-award winning sound system 'Funktion One' and an intelligent moving head lights of 171was also provided with a hugewall of LED screens composed of 300 and a kryogenifex cooling system (which cools the room in seven seconds).
